Quotes About Discipline
Child discipline is a senisitive and controverisal issue in the world of parenting. Many researches have been conducted on the role of parenting styles on child developemnt. Four major parenting styles were identified from these researches, namely, authoritarian parenting, authorative parenting, permissive parenting and uninvolved parenting.
Here is what the studies found on the impact of each parenting style on the child's development:
Authortarian parenintg- This type of parenting style developed obident, respectful, academically successful children. However, they had less self-esteem, happiness, and emotional intelligence.
Authorative parenting- authorative parenting lead to children who are both successful, happy and emotionally stable. (this is my perfered method:)
Permissive parenting- these parents raised kids who showed more deliquent behavior, had poor academic results and low self-control
Uninvolved parenting- The results of this type of parenting were the lowest among happiness, sucess, self-esteem and self-regulation.
I guess it's pretty obvious that the way that we decide to discipline our children will have a huge impact on who they will become. It can feel overwhemling sometimes but stick in there, you're probably doing a great job! Check out more tips and articles about parenting to help you along your way.
